Summary

The Equipment Operator isresponsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment tofacilitate construction, excavation, or other related projects. They mustensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment while adhering to allrelevant safety guidelines and procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Operating: Operate heavy equipment such as     bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders to perform tasks according to     project requirements.
  2. Safety: Conduct pre-operational checks on     equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.

Safely maneuver equipment to perform tasks such as digging,grading, loading, and hauling materials. Adhere to all safety regulations andprotocols to minimize risks and prevent accidents.

  1. Planning: Follow project plans, blueprints,     and instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
  2. Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized     work area, including equipment maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
  3. Communication: Communicate effectively with     team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities and ensure     project goals are met.

Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concernsto appropriate personnel promptly.

  1. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as     assigned to support project requirements and maintain operational     efficiency.
  2. Perform other duties as required or assigned by leadership

 

Position Requirements

·        Position requires extended hours, which willvary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require specifichours of operation.

·        May need to work weekends if business needsrequire

·        Regular attendance is a necessary and essentialfunction

 

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

·        Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl,climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead

·        Lift 75 pounds

·        Constantly moving on your feet for 8+ hours perday

·        Climb ladders (all types)

·        Completing overhead work for full dayassignments

·        Must be able to make transition from employeeparking area into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels ofthe building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved siteconstruction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use

·        Possess good vision (normal or corrected)

·        Positively identify colors of wires

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Certification or training in equipment operation     preferred.
  • Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a     construction or related field.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair     procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team     in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks     and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

·        Comprehends reading and drawing prints andschematics of same.

·        Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.

·        Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wiretuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.

·        Practices and comprehends safe work proceduresas outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, andLockout/Tagout Policy.

·        Read and interprets maps, instructional manuals,specifications, work site directions, basic drawings and written instructions.

·        Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts(electric or gas powered).

·        Knowledge of lighting control systems.

Compensation& Benefits

Commensurate withexperience, paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust rangesdepending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
