Summary
The Fleet Manager is responsible for the overall management,safety, compliance, utilization, maintenance, and cost control of the company’sfleet of 300+ vehicles and related equipment. This role supports ageographically distributed electrical construction operation and ensures thattrucks, vans, trailers, lifts, tools, and other fleet assets are available,compliant, properly maintained, and cost-effective. The Fleet Manager willpartner closely with Operations, Safety, Finance, Procurement, HR, and fieldleadership to ensure the fleet supports project execution while minimizingdowntime, risk, and total cost of ownership.
General Responsibilities:
· FleetOperations & Asset Management:Oversee daily operations of a 300+ vehicle fleet, maintaining accurateinventory records including assignments, locations, mileage, registrations, andasset status. Manage vehicle lifecycle processes including acquisition,upfitting, deployment, reassignment, replacement, and disposal while ensuringproper alignment of assets with operational needs.
· PolicyDevelopment & Utilization Oversight: Develop and enforce fleet policies related to vehicle usage, driverresponsibilities, fuel cards, maintenance, inspections, accidents, andtake-home vehicles. Monitor fleet utilization to identify underused or overusedassets and optimize allocation across business units.
· Maintenance& Downtime Management:Establish and manage preventive maintenance programs, tracking schedules,repairs, warranties, recalls, and service history. Coordinate with vendors andinternal teams to minimize downtime, ensure timely repairs, and maintain fleetreadiness and reliability.
· Vendor& Service Provider Management:Manage relationships with dealerships, repair shops, mobile mechanics, tire andglass vendors, towing providers, and upfitters. Review repair estimates andinvoices for accuracy and cost-effectiveness while identifying warrantyrecovery opportunities.
· Safety,Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and company requirements.Maintain all necessary documentation including registrations, inspections,permits, insurance, and driver records. Monitor driver behavior throughtelematics and enforce safety standards across the fleet.
· Telematics,Fuel & Technology Optimization:Administer fleet management systems, GPS/telematics platforms, fuel cardprograms, and maintenance tracking tools. Analyze data to improve driverperformance, reduce fuel consumption, enhance maintenance compliance, andincrease overall asset productivity.
· FinancialManagement & Cost Control:Develop and manage the annual fleet budget, tracking total cost of ownershipacross vehicles, locations, and business units. Provide recommendations onlease-versus-buy decisions, replacement cycles, and capital planning to supportlong-term operational efficiency.
· Procurement& Standardization:Coordinate procurement and standardization of fleet vehicles and equipment,including service trucks, vans, trailers, and specialty units. Manage rentalsolutions when needed to support operations and maintain cost efficiency.
· Leadership& Cross-Functional Support:Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet-related matters, partneringwith operations, safety, and leadership teams to support project mobilizationand workforce growth. Communicate expectations clearly and drive accountabilityacross all levels of the organization.
· ContinuousImprovement & Reporting:Develop reporting dashboards and performance metrics for leadership,identifying trends and opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, compliance,and cost management. Drive ongoing process improvements across fleetoperations.

Position Requirements
· Standard work week: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to5:00pm
· May need to work weekends if business needsrequire
· Regular attendance is a necessary and essentialfunction
· Position requires extended hours when businessneed requires.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
· Ableto lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
· Abilityto safely operate company vehicles and travel between branch locations, vendorsites, and job sites as needed; must maintain a valid driver’s license.
· Mustbe able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
· Positionrequires the ability to stand, squat, & reach
· Mustbe able to stand and walk continuously through shift
· Activitieslike typing and using a computer mouse can involve repetitive motions
· Crouch,kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time
· Mustbe able to sit at a desk for 8 plus hours per day
Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelor’sdegree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 5+years of fleet management experience, preferably supporting construction,electrical, or industrial service environments with large, geographicallydispersed fleets.
· Provenexperience managing 200+ vehicles, including trucks, vans, trailers, andspecialty equipment, with strong understanding of fleet lifecycle managementand field operations.
· Workingknowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and state-level regulations, including vehicleregistrations, inspections, driver requirements, and fleet compliancestandards.
· Strongunderstanding of preventive maintenance programs, vehicle systems, repairprocesses, and vendor coordination to ensure uptime and reliability.
· Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
· Stronginterpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits
