Summary

The Operations Manager in the Electrical Construction industry isresponsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the successfulexecution of electrical projects, and aligning activities with the company'sstrategic objectives. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets,resources, and compliance with safety standards. The Operations Manager willwork closely with Project Managers, field staff, and clients to ensure projectsare completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·           Project Management & Execution: Overseethe execution of electrical construction projects from initiation tocompletion. Ensure projects adhere to the approved timeline, budget, and scope.Monitor job progress, adjust schedules, and manage project challenges tominimize delays. Conduct site visits to ensure quality and safety standards arebeing met.

·           Team Leadership & Management: Supervise,mentor, and support Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams. Ensureproper resource allocation, including manpower, tools, and equipment forproject success. Develop and implement performance metrics for operationalstaff to ensure optimal productivity.

·           Budgeting & Financial Oversight Manageproject budgets, controlling costs to ensure profitability. Review job costreports and take corrective actions to improve financial outcomes. Work withthe finance department to review job billing, cash flow, and financialforecasts.

·           Client Relationship Management: Serveas the main point of contact for key clients, ensuring their needs are met. Buildand maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Addressand resolve any client issues or concerns promptly and professionally.

·           Safety & Compliance: Enforcecompliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and industryregulations. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure the team adheres to safework practices. Ensure all work complies with local, state, and nationalelectrical codes and regulations.

·           Operational Efficiency & Improvement: Developand implement operational processes to improve efficiency, productivity, andquality. Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhanceoperational performance. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement,engineering) to streamline workflows.

·           Reporting & Communication: Provideregular project status reports to senior management, highlighting keyaccomplishments, challenges, and risks. Facilitate communication between teams,ensuring everyone is aligned with project goals and timelines.

 

Position Requirements

·           Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teamsin a fast-paced construction environment.

·           Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying operationalissues and implementing effective solutions.

·           Time Management: Strong organizational skills and theability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

·           Financial Acumen: Understanding of project costmanagement and financial reporting.

·           Communication: Excellent interpersonal and negotiationskills to build relationships with clients, vendors, and teams.

 

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

·        Ableto lift up to 20lbs. regularly

·        Mustbe able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures

·        Positionrequires the ability to stand, squat, & reach

·        Mustbe able to stand and walk continuously through shift

·        Mustbe able to climb stairs and ladders

·        Abilityto exercise precaution in the handling of tools and equipment

·        Maybe exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions

·        Crouch,kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time

·        Mustbe able to sit at a desk for 8 plus hours per day

·        Besubject to motor or machine noise

·        Regularattendance is a necessary and essential function

 

Skills and Qualifications

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in electricalengineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).

·        Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experiencein the electrical construction industry. At least 3 years in a supervisory ormanagement role overseeing projects.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

·        Strongknowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.

·        Provenexperience in managing electrical construction projects.

·        Excellentproject management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

·        Abilityto read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts.

·        Proficientin project management software and tools.

·        Strongleadership and team management abilities.

·        Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills.

·        Analyticaland problem-solving skills to address project challenges.

·        Abilityto multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

·        Knowledgeof procurement and subcontractor management.

·        Understandingof construction industry regulations and best practices.

Compensation & Benefits

Commensurate withexperience, paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust rangesdepending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
