Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting thedevelopment, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs and proceduresspecific to electrical construction projects. This role involves conductingsafety inspections, assisting with training programs, and ensuring that safetystandards are adhered to on-site. The Safety Coordinator works closely with thedirector of safety, branch management, safety personnel at other businessunits, site supervisors, and workers to promote a safe working environment andculture.
EssentialDuties and Responsibilities
1. Safety Program Support: Assist in thedevelopment and implementation of safety policies and procedures related toelectrical construction. Help ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPAcodes, and company safety standards. Participate in the continuous improvementof safety programs based on site-specific needs and changes in regulations.
2. Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections onelectrical construction sites to identify potential hazards. Ensure thatpersonal protective equipment (PPE) is available and being used correctly. Reportsafety violations and unsafe conditions to management and recommend correctiveactions.
3. Training and Orientation: Conduct safetytraining sessions for new employees and subcontractors, with a focus onelectrical safety. Help organize and deliver toolbox talks and safetybriefings. Ensure that all workers understand and follow safety protocols,including lockout/tagout procedures.
4. Accident Reporting and Investigation: Assist in theinvestigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses involving electricalwork. Prepare initial reports on safety incidents, including documentation offindings and recommendations. Support Management in developing correctiveactions and preventive measures.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-dateknowledge of safety regulations and standards specific to electricalconstruction. Ensure that safety documentation is accurate, complete, andaccessible for audits or inspections. Assist in coordinating with localauthorities and regulatory bodies during safety inspections.
6. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: Participate in riskassessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for electrical construction tasks. Helpidentify potential risks and hazards, and recommend strategies to mitigatethem. Work with project teams to implement safety measures in the field.
7. Emergency Preparedness: Assist in thedevelopment and implementation of emergency response plans for electricalincidents. Ensure that emergency procedures are communicated to all sitepersonnel. Help coordinate emergency drills and review their effectiveness.
8. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain safetyrecords, including inspection reports, training logs, and incident reports. Assistin preparing safety performance reports for review by management. Ensure thatall safety documentation is organized and readily accessible.
9. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely withthe Operations Manager to communicate safety expectations and protocols to allsite personnel. Assist in coordinating safety efforts with subcontractors andother third parties. Foster a positive safety culture by promoting safe workpractices and encouraging reporting of hazards. Attend virtual meetings withsafety personnel from other business units facilitated by the director ofsafety. Engage and participate in these meetings and provide updates tomanagement on action items for implementation.

Position Requirements
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in OccupationalHealth and Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
· Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience insafety position, with a focus on electrical construction.
· Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction SafetyCertification, OSHA 500 Certificate, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), orsimilar credentials.
· Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electricalsafety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E), OSHA regulations, and construction safetypractices (or working on obtaining certifications)
· Skills: Strong analytical, communication, andleadership skills. Ability to conduct training and deliver presentations.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to navigateconstruction sites, including climbing ladders and scaffolding, and wearingpersonal protective equipment (PPE).

· Understanding of risk assessment and hazardidentification methodologies.
· Excellent communication skills for conveyingsafety information to diverse audiences. (Bilingual highly desired)

Compensation& Benefits
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The Companyreserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of theselected candidate.
