Summary

The Superintendent primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the electrical construction activities on a project site. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the electrical installation, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Your role will involve leading and managing a team of electricians, subcontractors, and technicians, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of electrical projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and electrical work sequences. Ensure coordination between electrical activities and other trades to facilitate a smooth workflow.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of electricians, subcontractors, and technicians. Provide guidance, support, and supervision to ensure safe and efficient electrical installations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Construction Execution: Oversee and monitor all electrical construction activities, including material procurement, installation, wiring, and testing. Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. Review and approve subcontractor work, resolve conflicts, and monitor their performance.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and quality of electrical installations. Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements. Address and resolve any non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Safety Management: Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the project site. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical installations, including drawings, as-built records, and equipment manuals. Review and approve electrical shop drawings and submittals.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the progress of electrical installations and report on the status, productivity, and any issues or delays to project managers and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on electrical work schedules, milestones, and completion dates.
  • Change Order Management: Assess and evaluate change order requests related to electrical work. Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to determine the impact on the project schedule, cost, and resources. Implement approved changes and document accordingly.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Address client concerns, provide project updates, and collaborate to resolve any project-related issues.


Position Requirements

  • Position requires extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require their own specific hours of operation.
  • May need to work weekends if business needs require
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 60lbs. regularly
  • Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
  • Position requires the ability to stand, squat, & reach
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to exercise precaution in the handling of tools and equipment
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions
  • Crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time
  • Be subject to motor or machine noise
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certification as an electrician or electrical technician.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical General Superintendent or in a similar leadership role in the construction industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in field construction management

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, control systems, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and safety protocols.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Understanding of construction industry regulations and best practices.


Compensation & Benefits

Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
